2013 Jewels of Highland Home Tour
Jewels of the Highlands Home Tour
Sunday, October 13
12:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The 2013 Jewels of the Highlands Home Tour is presented by Nostalgic Homes and benefits Brown International Academy, a Denver Public Elementary School. The tour will feature eight homes in the Grandview and Harkness Heights neighborhoods. The Harkness Heights neighborhood is located between Federal and Lowell boulevards; 41st to 44th Avenue. The Grandview neighborhood is immediately north of Harkness Heights and adjacent to Rocky Mountain Lake Park. Grandview’s borders are I-70 to the north, 44th Avenue to the south, Federal Blvd to the east and Lowell Blvd to the west.
All of the homes are new to the Jewels of Highlands Tour. A few of the homes on the tour are highlighted below:
1912 Craftsman bungalow which features a 1,000 square foot addition completed in the Spring of 2013. The owners were able to locally source brick for the exterior of the addition as well as picture rail molding, baseboards and door casing which are an identical match to that found on the original home.
1922 Bungalow which features original Craftsman woodwork and a light-filled, updated kitchen.
1928 Italianate home, unique and spectacular, reportedly built by an Italian stonemason as his family home. This home features a hexagon shaped grand foyer and a stunning living room featuring a magnificent fireplace surrounded by built-in bookcases.
1939 Tudor on 46th Avenue with a beautiful view of the park.
1955 Mid-Century ranch set on a park-like 9,000 square foot lot directly across from Rocky Mountain Lake Park.
